Professional Summary
Stephanie Itimi is a standout information security professional who is making waves in the cybersecurity industry. As the founder of Seidea, an organisation that aims to increase diversity in the field, Stephanie has partnered with corporate entities to provide training events and valuable skills to over 7000 BME women and 900 BME girls. Her tireless commitment to diversity and inclusion has earned her recognition as a 2022 Cyber Security Influencer by the Evening Standard and a nomination for the Women of the Future 2022 ESG Rising Star Award by Her Majesty's High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Stephanie has also made significant contributions to global initiatives, including being part of the BBC World Service team that developed the world's first public health information service on WhatsApp with the aim of tackling disinformation. Through this project, she managed stakeholder relationships with UNICEF, the World Health Organisation, the World Food Program, and the Centre for Disease Control, supplying text, pictures, and audio to over 16,000 consumers in West Africa.
Stephanie's consultative experience has led her to work on high-profile initiatives in Slovakia, Morocco, the United Kingdom, and several West and East African nations. Her partnerships with organisations such as Culture Fez, Balloon Ventures, UN Women, and the European Commission have promoted digital literacy, financial empowerment, gender equality, and freedom of data. Stephanie has also collaborated with the Society for International Development, the University of Lagos, and SOIF on the Digital Futures in Africa platform, reviewing the ethics of AI in the Global South.
As a certified NFT expert with the Blockchain Council, Stephanie is at the forefront of digital innovation. She serves as a member of the advisory board for KlimatelinK, a global web3 digital Peer 2 Peer climate community, and has worked with sports organisations such as the Senegalese Football Federation, Diambars Football Academy, and NBA Africa, using predictive analysis and wearable tech to enhance performance.
Stephanie holds a BA in Economics from Coventry University and an MSc in Global Economic Governance and Policy from SOAS, University of London. She has also served as a consultant for Africa Business Portal and as a guest lecturer at Coventry University London's MBA Global Business program. She is current pursuing her PHD in Information Security within the Center of Doctoral Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London.
