Public Speaking:
Digital Literacy for Development
Available to deliver 20 min Workshop, 45-90 min Keynote, Half-Day Masterclass
Delivering my keynote to corporates, universities and communities;
I aim to share my knowledge on Digital Security, Digital Literacy for Development and the Informal Economy
There are many barriers which limit women of black and ethnic minority backgrounds from pursuing a career in technology or updating their skills to meet the modern-day demands. This is what led me to create my social enterprise Seidea which aims to close the gender digital gap for BME women and girls through training, workshops and safe spaces online. This is why I am passionate about sharing my story of how I navigated the tech space as a black woman and a non-CS graduate.
Digital Security is another issue that is close to my heart, as I believe that all women should feel safe not only on the streets but online also. This is why I lend my knowledge of working in cybersecurity to educate women on digital security. In 2018, I started an annual survey, as part of the UN Women #16DaysofActivism to help fill in the data gap on cyber violence against BAME women (UK and Nigeria).
Given its importance to local economies, the informal sector deserves more attention as a driver of development. This is why I published an academic book titled "The Informal Sector in Nigeria and its impact on Development", which highlights how scaling up informal businesses can help with job creation, gender equality and in turn development
